Nissan Murano Review

For anyone looking for a midsized SUV, without the high price tag many vehicles in the category have, the Nissan Murano is an excellent option. The price range is rather significant, as it can go anywhere from just under $30,000 to well over $40,000. If you get then base trim, the price is rather affordable and provide many of the same features you’ll find in more expensive options from other manufactures. One of the latest features of the brand new Nissan Murano that has heads turning is the convertible trim. Very few SUVs of this size offer a convertible feature, so although you may not go off roaring with such a trim, it is an excellent design when you want fun in the sun, without buying a separate, smaller convertible.

The Nissan Murano is available in both two wheel drive and four wheel drive. The four wheel drive is only really necessary if you live in strong weather conditions or need the extra stability for rain. The two wheel drive does provide exceptional traction control, so even if you decide to opt into the less expensive alternative, you shouldn’t have much trouble driving the vehicle in harsher weather.

Fuel efficiency is rather straight forward for the particular kind of SUV, as it averages 18 in the city and 24 on the highway. When the vehicle is put into four wheel drive mode the MPG does go down, so it is not recommended to drive a long distance in this configuration, unless it is necessary.

The convertible configuration actually provides the worst fuel efficiency out of all the Nissan Murano models, as its MPG is reduced to 17 in the cut and 22 in the highway. This is generally due to the reduced arrow dynamic configuration, on top of the increased horsepower over the other models (it has 265 horsepower and 248 pounds of torque, while all other models are at 260 horsepower and 240 pounds of torque.

When shopping around for a midsized SUV, the Nissan Murano is definitely a vehicle to consider. It is about midway up the pricing spectrum, giving you a suitable price for what you receive. However, the Nissan Murano is one of the few SUVs of its size that has a convertible trim, so if you want your hair to blow in the wind and the sun on your face, check out the Nissan Murano.
